Shire of Leonora

The Shire of Leonora recognises the potential for a greater diversification of its tourism product, and the economic and social benefit that comes from more tourists to the Shire and travelling through the region.

Kim Hewson, Principal of Economics Transition, was engaged by the Shire of Leonora to develop a long-term Tourism Strategy framework to review the current tourism scenario, future tourism potential, action plans which have the possibility of increasing business activity in the Shire and to analyse the risk associated with tourism in the Shire.

Kim travelled to Leonora and Gwalia to facilitate workshops, in November 2013 and February 2014 with key stakeholders to assist in the development of the Tourism Strategy and to identify future projects.

The Shire was impressed with Kim's tourism and economic development knowledge and expertise. Her professional approach ensured a comprehensive and user friendly Tourism Strategy.

Working with Kim from Economic Transitions is an absolute pleasure; she is efficient, professional and welcoming.  GTNA was thrilled when Kim accepted the nomination for Treasurer on our Board and her commitment to the organisation through our second edition of our Guide Book.

What we appreciate most about working with Kim is her ability to have information directly at hand and cut through any politics of a project, keep everyone happy and deliver the expected results and then some.
